Yesterday, 13th August, at about 12noon; a campus shuttle carrying at about 12 passengers was involved in a fatal accident. Rumour has it that this accident claimed the life of two MAPOLY students but people have been told by the school management to disregard this rumour because nobody died in the accident.
According to Eye-witnesses, most of the victims sustained minor injury and they were rushed to the school medical centre for treatment.
However, our Correspondent, Ayoola Rachael, reported that only one of the students involved suffered a great injury because she flew out of the moving Bus due to fear and anxiety. The victim name is Ayomide, an ND1 student of Mass Communication; according to Rachael, the girl was said to have been transferred to a General Hospital at Oke Atta area of Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Furthermore, other campus shuttles has not been allowed to enter the school premises because of the incident. Some of the drivers were asked to refund money to students at the school gate when the incident happened. We strongly hope the chairman of the association of MAPOLY campus shuttles will dialogue with the school and Student Union Government to resolve this issue to avoid transportation difficulty.
